Dalton Public Schools is excited to host a Summer Learning Kickoff event on Thursday, May 15 from 5:00–6:00 PM at the Mack Gaston Community Center. This event is part of our DaltonReads! initiative, which is focused on promoting early literacy and helping families build a strong reading foundation at home. The event is designed for families of rising kindergarten and first grade students, and will provide simple, practical ways to support learning over the summer. Families will receive our ABC Summer Calendar, watch demonstrations of literacy activities they can do at home, and enjoy free childcare during the session. Las Escuelas Públicas de Dalton se complacen en organizar un evento de Inicio del Aprendizaje de Verano el jueves 15 de mayo, de 5:00 a 6:00 p.m., en el Centro Comunitario Mack Gaston. Este evento forma parte de nuestra iniciativa ¡Dalton Lee!, la cual está enfocada en promover la alfabetización temprana y ayudar a las familias a construir una base sólida de lectura en el hogar. El evento está diseñado para las familias de niños que ingresarán a kínder y primer grado, y ofrecerá formas sencillas y prácticas de apoyar el aprendizaje durante el verano. Las familias recibirán nuestro Calendario de Verano ABC, verán demostraciones de actividades de lectura que pueden hacer en casa y disfrutarán de cuidado de niños gratuito durante la sesión.

Parents, Just a reminder that Milestones Testing begins tomorrow, April 23! Testing will begin first thing each morning, so students need to be sure to arrive on time, well rested, and ready to test! It is VERY IMPORTANT that students come to school prepared with their LAPTOPS and CHARGERS each day! We will see everyone tomorrow! IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE: TWO-HOUR DELAY FOR DALTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS ON MONDAY, JANUARY 13, 2025 Out of an abundance of caution, Dalton Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, January 13, 2025. Key details for families: Dalton High School and The Dalton Academy will begin at 9:30 AM. Hammond Creek Middle School and Dalton Junior High School will begin at 10:05 AM. Elementary schools will begin at 10:30 AM. -Buses will run two hours later than normal. For example, if a bus typically picks up students at 6:30, it will arrive at 8:30. -All students will receive a grab-and-go breakfast upon arrival. -All extracurricular activities will continue as schedule -The Board of Education meeting will proceed as planned. Students will be released at their normal time, and aside from the delayed start, the school day will proceed as usual. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
