Dalton Public Schools held its annual Young Georgia Authors celebration on Wednesday, March 27 at Hammond Creek Middle School. Students and staff from across the district attended to be recognized for their hard work.
Dalton Public Schools united with communities nationwide in acknowledging April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. To highlight the importance of the month, students and staff across the district placed pinwheels in front of every school.
As the Superintendent of Dalton Public Schools, I'm thrilled to share some exciting updates on our new literacy campaign, Dalton Reads!. With the recent appointment of a District Level Director of Literacy and the addition of second District Level Literacy Specialist, our commitment to advancing literacy education has never been stronger. Dalton Public Schools will also be adding School-Level Literacy Interventionists to our literacy team, further enhancing our efforts to support students' literacy development.
Dalton Public Schools students and programs have once again demonstrated excellence on the stage, garnering prestigious awards and recognition at the 16th Annual Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards (GHSMTA) presented by ArtsBridge Foundation in partnership with Georgia Public Broadcasting.
The “Shuler Awards 2024,” a live co-production with GPB, served as the platform for announcing the winners of the "Sweet 16" edition of the GHSMTA. A celebration of the finest high school musical theatre talents across the state, this year's event featured 75 participating schools culminating in a televised Awards Show at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, hosted by Tony Award-winning actor, Shuler Hensley.
Dalton Public Schools proudly announces the appointment of Kendall Jordan as the new Director of Student Information Services & Enrollment, effective immediately. With a rich background in both education and business, Jordan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role.
