Superintendent Tim Scott said that the search for Martin's replacement has already begun.
"We will have the position posted on our website right away and will be accepting applications," Scott said. "We are looking for a leader who is innovative, student-focused and passionate about student achievement. Brookwood has earned a reputation as a school of excellence and we certainly want to see that tradition continue."
Brookwood, which serves students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, is the only Georgia Department of Education Certified STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) School in the Whitfield/Murray County area.
